Along the way to where I now briefly pause I have been so very fortunate to meet a wide variety of people. I have had the privilege to learn from many of them — and the misfortune to have ignored what the others might have taught me. With each new thing I have learned my path forward has changed. Sometimes the change is substantial. Sometimes the change is subtle. But even in the most subtle of changes lies a new direction and a new final point of arrival.
I say “the final point of arrival” because the word “destination”, which comes more readily to my mind, suggests far too great an arrogance. It seems to assume that I know to which point I will eventually arrive. In some general ways I do know. In many other ways I do not. But I do know that to aim for one, and only one final point of arrival avoids the possibility to be open to the currents of people, time, and the wisdom and will of God.
This place to which I know deposit my thoughts is to pass along some of what I have learned in the course of my travels. I wish that you may find what lands here to be helpful in some small way. I apologize if you find it less than helpful.
